Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) refers to data files entrusted to us by our clients for quoting, procuring, and assembling their electronic circuit card assemblies. The methods for receiving, storing, managing, and destroying this information have evolved significantly from outdated practices like shredding floppy disks or tape backups to advanced cybersecurity measures. At NPI, we adhere to the latest cybersecurity requirements, such as DFARS 252.204-7021, and continually invest in cutting-edge practices to safeguard our operations against potential threats. To prepare for the forthcoming CMMC flow-down requirements for subcontractors like NPI, we have migrated our operations to the Microsoft Government Cloud, ensuring enhanced security and compliance.
After nine months of meticulous planning and implementation, NPI successfully migrated all operations to the Microsoft Government Cloud GCC High in July, aligning with CMMC 2.0 requirements for enhanced cybersecurity. It did help that we implemented the 110 controls from NIST 800-171 in 2019 per specific project DFARS and ITAR requirements. When it comes to taking responsibility for protecting our clients’ CUI, NPI believes in being pro-active rather than re-active when it comes to cybersecurity.
Last week, NPI proudly celebrated our 11th consecutive AS9100 and ISO13485 quality certifications. This achievement underscores our commitment to the highest standards of manufacturing excellence, crucial for our aerospace and medical clients.
