NPI’s tech tools were developed in acknowledgement of the classic Italian engineer turned economist Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923) and his infamous Pareto’s Principle that hypothesizes that 20% of a product’s parts represents 80% of its cost. Tech tools provides engineers with quick reference to approximately 80% of the components that make up the “other” 20% of a product’s cost.

NPI has discovered that most engineers focus on the 20% of the components where the costs and key technologies reside, and don’t put as much effort into the majority of the components such as resistors, capacitors and basic headers.

NPI works with all the major component suppliers who respect our efforts to advise engineers on the latest technologies and most cost effective solutions. When an engineer asks: “In the various dielectric material what’s the largest capacitance, in the smallest package, with the greatest voltage?” our staff is ready to answer these ever changing questions as the industry continues to move to smaller packages with powerful outputs.
